Massage Therapist Job Description

• Welcome customers to the massage studio
• Consult with customers about their medical histories and any issues with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful
• Perform client consultations and take detailed notes about their needs and existing conditions to determine if massage therapy will be helpful for them
• Conduct client evaluations to check for painful or tense areas of the body
• Take SOAP notes
• Recommend services and treatments
• Perform soft-tissue, facial and scalp massages
• Listen to client’s feedback and adjust massage techniques as needed
• Provide guidance and suggestions to help clients improve their posture, relaxation and muscle strength
• Evaluate client’s discomfort, muscle tension and range of motion
• Advise clients on stretching techniques based on their lifestyles and needs
• Explain treatments and packages offered
• Apply and recommend different products as appropriate
